What Are You Called To?

I read the article below and my first thought was, "Wow, it has been some time since I have been somewhere where it was illegal to share the Gospel".  We started in missions by going into a country where it was illegal to convert, let alone share the Gospel with anyone.

We have been to many places in the world sharing the Gospel. We have taken the Gospel to those that have never heard it. We have ministered among the poorest of the poor. We have worked in orphanages and children's homes. We have preached in churches, and done street evangelism.  I love all of these things, but there is a part of me that I know I am called to take the Gospel to the darkest places where conversion is not just frowned upon, but it is illegal.  I know that this is part of what the Lord has for me. I know that part of the call on my life is to go to the places where prison is a real possibility for sharing Jesus.  It's not just prison, but even my own life is at risk.

I don't say this because I want any accolades. I believe this because it is part of the work I am called to. Short-term missions is what I am called to as part of the greater work within the Kingdom. It is my public ministry, if you will.  There is also the part that the Lord has called me to that is less public.  It is more of the Jesus called me to this so I will go do it.

Not everyone is called to go to the “dangerous” places.  I know many that are, and many that are not.  It is not about “dangerous” or “not dangerous” places.  What it is about is what are you doing for the mission?  What are you doing to expand the Kingdom?  What are you doing to fulfill your Great Commission Call?  We all have one.  The Great Commission is for everyone. Some of us go. Some of us send. Some of us mobilize. Some of us partner.

What are you called to?  Are you doing that?

I will leave you with that thought and the article below.
